Descriptive statistics are used to describe the basic features of the data in a given study. The Statistics provide simple summaries about the sample and the measures of the data.
-The Mean, also known as average, is probably the most commonly used method of describing central tendency -The Standard Deviation is a more accurate and detailed estimate of dispersion because an outlier can greatly exaggerate the range. -The Median is the score found at the exact middle of the set of values -The Mode is the most frequently occurring value in the set of scores -The Range is simply the highest value minus the lowest value -The Sample Variance is the average of the squared differences from the Mean. -The Count is the total number included in the data set -The Kurtosis is how sharp the peak of a frequency-distribution curve -The Minimum is the least or smallest amount or quantity possible -The Maximum is the greatest or highest amount possible -The Skewness is a measure of the asymmetry of the probability distribution. It can be positive or negative, or even undefined -The Standard Error a measure of the statistical accuracy of an estimate -The Sum is the total amount resulting from the addition of the given data values |
